How To Sing With Power (Glottal Compression)

So You Want More POWER In Your Singing

[How To Sing With Glottal Compression]

So you want to sing with more power.

You want more range.

You want to sing with grit, gravel and distortion.

You my friend, are looking for Glottal Compression.

More importantly Diaphragmatic, Subglottal, Medial, Supraglottal and Epiglottal compression if we're splitting hairs.

It might sound complicated when we compartmentalise our airflow in this way, but it's actually VERY easy to develop for more power, more range and a healthier voice.

Now, the easiest way I can mystify singing with vocal compression is to use a balloon at a children's party as an example.

Remember when you were a kid and you'd pull the lips of the balloon apart to make it 'squeal' and squeak?

Yep, that's because of compression.

But which part of the balloon creates this compression which creates a piercingly powerful and sustained resonant squeal - is it the body of the balloon? The neck of the balloon? The opening where the air flows out? The air itself? Your hands?

Actually - every single one of these elements works together to create that powerful sound.

The airflow resistance that your fingers create when they pull the neck of the balloon flat and wide, the lips of the balloon vibrating with that powerful airflow, the body of the balloon pushing against the air that's held inside and even the air itself pushing back against the body of the balloon and the resistance at your fingers.

And thus we get vocal compression.

By resisting the recoil of the diaphragm by creating lateral support and a steady flow of 'resisted' air, and resisting that airflow by closing your vocal folds, and engaging the supraglottis and yes, even adding a touch of compression with twang - this multi stage compression machine creates a POWERHOUSE of incredible tone, range and intesity without even the slightest effort.

Many stages of compression add up to the general concept of "glottal compression" as a whole.

It's not a switch.

It's not a push.

It's not a "HUH" with the belly.

It's a combination of each airflow valve in your vocal mechanism working in tandem to create a powerful but resisted flow of air that vibrates your vocal folds and creates resonance.

In fewer words, vocal compression is a controlled balance between airflow and air pressure when you sing.

Balanced airflow creates a balanced tone.

Balanced air pressure creates POWER.

What You Need To Learn FIRST.

I've gotta be honest with you, glottal compression is really a "growth" level concept which helps you build and grow a stronger and more confident voice - but how can you grow something that has no root system, no support, no foundation?

You can't.

And that's why you need to first master The Four Vocal Fundamentals before you learn to sing with Glottal Compression to power up your voice.

At this point, you're probably expecting me to try and sell you some course, or even redirect you to another tutorial on singing - but I'm just going to SHOW you how to sing with The Four Vocal Fundamentals right here, right now.

As only an Aussie can do, I'm just going to lay it all on the line, show you all of my cards and just give you the unabridged truth with no strings attached in this comprehensive Four Vocal Fundamentals singing lesson - seriously, you're about to learn more in under 10 minutes than you've probably learned over YEARS of trawling through YouTube videos or even paying for weekly singing lessons.

My friend, here's how to sing better using The Four Vocal Fundamentals;

As Axl Rose once said - Where do we go now?

If you watched the full Four Vocal Fundamentals video above, you can probably see why my teaching studio is regularly featured in Top Ten lists along side some of the world's most famous vocal methods, from Christina Aguilera's Masterclass to "Hollywood Coach To The Stars" Roger Love, and even other vocal coaches with tens of thousands of their own subscribers are saying that "Bohemian Vocal Studio is the only vocal school to trust"

But what about actual SINGING, you know, the things you're trying to learn to do better yourself? Don't just take my word for it, this is the kind of feedback my latest album is getting;

I'm going to guess that you learned more in the <10 minute coaching video I shared with you above than you've learned from years of trawling YouTube videos or even taking weekly singing lessons, you've seen the incredible feedback my actual singing voice gets and you've seen other voice coaches raving about how great my coaching studio is and you've seen my studio ranked up against the world's Top Singing methods.

So at this point you've really got TWO choices.

Option 1) You close this tab, maybe even clear your cache and what you've learned here today will become a distant memory.

Instead of building a serious amount of vocal range and learning to sing with more power than you ever imagine possible - you'll head back to "the youtube loop" of video after video after video looking for an answer that really never comes.

You keep straining.

You keep struggling.

And it's a total shame.

Especially when you were only ONE CLICK AWAY from becoming a better singer.

Don't be that guy.

Option 2) You invest in your singing voice.

You become a MUCH better singer.

You learn to sing with more power than you've ever imagined.

High notes become easy as pie.

Your tone is like butter.

All because you invested in your voice like only a serious singer would by purchasing the Foundation 101 singing course - hell, I'll even throw in the special Growth Level course for only a few extra bucks; because I know just how serious you are about becoming a better singer.

And do want to know why I'm so damn confident that the second option is the right one?

Because it's a choice I made myself many years ago - this is the vocal approach that I personally use.

My students have made this choice - I've got students all over the world recording their first albums, smashing their goals and even becoming well respected voice coaches themselves -yes, even other voice coaches with tens of thousands of subscribers are using the method that I first taught them.

But I'm not telling you this just to make myself sound like the best, or better than anyone else, or even that all these amazing singers who have applied themselves to my approach and totally smashed their dreams owe me anything.

I just want you to move forward as a singer, step off "the youtube loop" and ultimately build a better singing voice.

And now you know the answer.
