  1. Wow, this is a really cool idea! What a great opportunity to learn how to sing – I would think with this much value, and with your experience there would be a charge for your courses and these resources. Thanks so much!

    1. You’re welcome Freya! Ha – well, I want everyone to have the opportunity to receive professional voice coaching and get the best out of their voices.

Let me know if you have any questions about your singing.

      All the best,

  2. Sounds like a great opportunity to get vocal lessons

Do you only use Skype for your lessons or can we use FaceTime, Zoom or another live video app as well? My experience with Skype is that it is an older application… What time zone are you in and what is the best times for you?

    1. Thanks Greg! Yeah absolutely, I often run sessions on Zoom as well – Skype is my main preference purely because of commonality, but if you have another preference let me know. My timezone is AEST, but my booking calendar will do a conversion for you when you click on an available spot.

      All the best,

  3. Thanks, Kegan for this great resource! I loved the 3 points on your video–so clear and easy to grasp, even for a super-novice like me.
A year ago I began cantoring in church and then I discovered how little control I really had over my voice–yikes! Then a month ago I began singing with a Sacred Harp group (it’s just for fun) and I found that this practice every week with no pressure to preform, just singing with others for fun, has helped me a lot. During this fun time I’ve been focusing on breathing properly and having good posture–so very basic, but it’s helped a lot.
So, I really agree with your first point, to focus on one thing at a time. It was really nice to hear a professional like you say this!

  4. You know when I was younger I was given a choice, gymnastics or singing lessons…should have gone with the singing lessons lol I use to google “free singing lessons” all the time,so this was really interesting to read/learn about. Thanks you for sharing it with the world. I’m definitely gonna have to come back to this to check it out. I wonder why you offer free vocal lessons when you are obviously a professional voice coach – shouldn’t you charge for your services?

    1. You’re welcome Salina! I do also offer personalised Skype singing lessons for those singers who wish to take their voices to the next level and seriously develop their range. I wish there were resources like the BVS YouTube channel and my troubleshooting guide when I first started learning to sing.

I realise that not everyone is in a position, or ready, to purchase vocal lessons – but I do believe that everyone should have the opportunity to develop their voices with the right information, and access to a voice coach for feedback and guidance. Online voice coaches often just put up “Wow factor” singing covers and say “Buy my course to learn my secret!” instead of actually showing anyone how to improve their voices – I wish to break this mould and actually SHOW people how to sing, whether they purchase lessons or not.

      All the best!

  5. Hi,

What a great idea! I have been learning to play the guitar using online lessons for a while now, I hadn’t even thought about vocal lessons.

I am going to have to look in to this in more depth, maybe it will cure my stage-fright.

    Thanks for this post!

    1. Cheers Tom! Absolutely – confidence in singing comes from knowing your voice and having an approach designed to work powerfully under any circumstances.

Let me know if you have any questions!

  6. This is a wonderful initiative, which has certainly got me thinking. I have always wanted to sing, not necessarily as a professional, but I love music and think I would get a lot of pleasure if I could sing along at parties and stuff, but I don’t have the confidence. Good on ya, I will give it some thought.

  7. Fantastic article. I was searching the web for singing lessons for my 7 year old daughter when I came across your article. My daughter has a talent for singing and I wanted to try to see if we could get her to the next level. I almost had to re read your article couldn’t believe you can get all this for free. After watching your video I am confident she will get to the next level. Thank you so much for the great article and I definitely will keep you posted on how she does with your training.
